Renovation of the Imavere log sorting area warehouse

Renovation of the Imavere log sorting area warehouse

In July 2016, a project was carried out, during which the old dilapidated asphalt covered warehouse was renovated in the Imavere log sorting area. The goal of the project was to stabilize and improve the decking of the warehouse to ensure its durability and long-term service life. Over time, the old asphalt coating of the warehouse had decayed, making work difficult and dangerous. The Imavere log sorting area is an important part of Stora Enso’s logistics chain, where large quantities of wood are sorted and stored.

The project used StabilRoad® technology, by which the existing pavement material (gravel, sand, clay) was mixed with cement and StabilRoad® additive to achieve the required stability. The existing soil was thoroughly mixed to create a stable base for further work. After stabilization, the storage area was left uncovered for the winter, allowing the soil to settle and gain the necessary strength.

The renovation of the sorting area warehouse was a successful project that demonstrated the benefits of using StabilRoad® technology. Thanks to the StabilRoad® technology, the warehouse is significantly stronger and more durable, offering safe and comfortable work arrangements for the staff of the entire sorting area.
